There are many way to advertise your business, websites, products & services. There is huge market which deal with this issue. It is so big that a business owner who just started his business will be lost.
All what is written it is base on our experience with our company and with our customers from Asia Pacific Area (Australia and Singapore). When I say we, it means OLALA.COM.AU.
All bellow will be kept simple. Every point may be analised in details later on.
Ask yourself and answer:
1) Are you new on the market?
2) What you wish to advertise: company, products/services or one product/service ?
3) What are you targeting: one time clients or you wish to create long term relations?
4) Are your products/service changing in time for example today you sell mops and next months you will sell ipods and so on?
5) What is your geographical target: local area, country or all the world?
What you may know about your “marketing service suppliers” before choosing one:
1) When you will be contacted via mail or phone and you will be told that your website / business will be:
- submitted in over 5000 directories and search engine
- will be displayed on the first page in Google / Yahoo /MSN
for only $29.95/mo, do never think it will really happen in your case.
In most of cases it was proven that these advertising companies know very well the customer way of (re)acting when they receive the adds.
You find in their email exactly what you wish to have and a price small enough to be paid. It is more likely to pay $29.95 and to tell to yourself: “I will take this chance, it may happen and I will save $$$$$) than to assume from the very beginning that you will pay let’s say $2500 for a small but efficient campaign.
2) Be careful about “Google office”. Google has not at this point its own offices all over the world which do advertising (adword campaigns) for anybody.
Google have partners. These partners are dealing (selling and promoting) Google products and services. They are normal advertising companies who are doing a very narrow slice of “Advertising”. To become Google partner the company stuff must pay and take part to Google training in USA.
They may be the most reliable regarding Google products, but they are NOT GOOGLE.
3) Now rise a new problem: You may target with your campaign people you do not want to. Your campaign may be classified as spam and in the best scenario you spent money for nothing. For example you advertise your web design company on FaceBook. It may be ok later but now that will be a wrong place to pay and put your ads.
