The traditional advertising stays on the market and brings money to Advertising companies and to Companies who are advertising they their products and services as well. At the same time, because of the “globalization” and because of the Internet, marketing tools are becoming more complex and sometimes more aggressive.
When someone mentions “traditional marketing”, most of the time it meas: billboards, radio and TV adds, mail in mailbox, flayers on the street, unwanted phone calls, unknown people who knock at the door and in the last years lots of spam in your email box. Already everybody is used with all of them and everybody know more or less how to protect against themselves intrusions into their privacy. For example, if the telemarketer is too insistent you may change the phone number and you can hide it for a small fee or anyone can send emails from unknowns in the junk folder. It is pretty simple and efficient.
The internet becomes more and more part of our life. It is very easy to have a domain name or to have access to the internet on your mobile device or phone does not matter where you are. To use huge portals (social networks) like youtube, facebook or twitter is part of our life. It is really fantastic to find your college mate or to share with your friends all you wish instantaneously. You can learn, you can have great time and why not, you can advertise your business easy and at almost no cost (not always, but it may be possible).
There is another aspect of the “social network” about some of us may be aware. In the last year more and more “social network” like websites allow to they registered users to write their user names (email addresses) and passwords from their Yahoo, MSN and Google accounts into their system. They (social network websites) explain that this is the easy way for you as registered user to have all your friends into the system and share with them all you like. One of those social network website asked me to give them my Google connection details during the registration process. There are terms and conditions, there is policy privacy but as long as a system or a human being has access to your email account nobody will never know if that system or person will access only your address bock and not all your emails.
It was proven that once I added one email address (of one of my friend) on such a system, my friend begins to receive more spam. Some name it advertising. And all is legal and it is my responsibility that my friend receive this spam. Lucky me I dd not give them my emails username and passwords. As long As I checked that “I AGREE” anything may happen. All is my problem as user of that “social network.
As usual it is good to take the good part from all is happening.
