We are told that the new OS will require the same resources or may be less than Windows 7. It is about power processing, memory and hard disk space. Remember the minimum requirements for 32 bits: 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM HDD and 16 GB hard disk space. Double all for 64 bits version.
As long as tables and low power consumptions laptops are more and more used, Microsoft target is to allow Windows 8 to be loaded on them.
Microsoft is developing a version of Windows 8 for ARM processors as well.
What is the relation between all above and Web development and marketing? There are a few
- Mobile web development gets more relevance, most of websites will be built for mobile and for desktops or will be done for mobile devices only
- Websites will be integrated for real into social networks like Facebook and (maybe) Google (Google +)
- Apps will become the new direction for any development company (Android, Apple and Microsoft market), as far as I see Windows 8 has included his “SHOP BIG BUTTON” close to “Brows the net”.
