From dump termnal to internet dump terminal – Evolution

Twenty years ago I studied in Uni and my small apps (coding) were processed on a computer as big as a conference room. When I was lucky to get a free dump terminal I can connect myself to the big machine. The Internet did not exist as we know it today. A network of computers based on UNIX OS began to work in Uni campus in USA.

Ten years ago Microsoft was more or less the single valid options for home users who have their own PC (personal computer), Apple was very expansive and Unix was for corporate users only.

At that time most of us were not “Internet” addicted, we can live without being online.

Today Google “internet terminal” is on the market. It has a fancy keyboard by the way. More and more businesses are using online documents and storage (Google/Microsoft 365 and Apple clouds)

BlackBerry tablets create big financial problems to it subscribers who are using BlackBerry servers to watch YouTube. It happens because users just do not realise that they can use the WiFi to enjoy the internet. That’s really very costly.

A few days ago I could not believe to my eyes when I read: “Microsoft believes Google Apps is too web-focused for serious businesses” – APC Australia – Aug 2011 pag 20. I ma not quite sure what date show Microsoft calendar J
