cPAnel has not “aliases” or “nickname” facility as Google or standard *nix mail system have.
The way to work around is to use the forwarding option.
How it should work:
- create an email address for example mymail@olala.com.au
- go to forwarders and create for example: info@olala.com.au -> mymail@olala.com.au
It may work but in most of the cases it will not work because of the server where you configure above or because of the other email servers involved when you send /receive an email.
Beacuse of spamming most of the servers check if an originating email does exist on the server from wher the email is sent. If you will sent an email from info@olala.com.au the receiver email sevre may check if that email address does physicaly exist o the sever (like a email box with space, username and password). It wil fined that it is not thereand the email will be just drppped.
Solutions:
- create email addresses for info@olala.com.au and forward it. Problem: you must go to this email and delete the content from time to time. Forwarding means “COPY” and there is no option to delete after the email was forwarded.
- move your email system to the Google (standard or Business).
OLALA can fix this problem for one time setup $100 inc GST and then is free (standard) or $50/y/email address paid to Google not to us (recommende Google price is $83/y/email address)
All above is valid at the moment the article was written.
