In April 2011 Adobe announced the new Dreamweaver cs 5.5 which is is packed with innovations in HTML5 and Adobe Flash authoring tools. It allows developers to create, deliver and monetize rich content and applications for virtually any screen.
This release helps enable designers and developers to deliver mobile applications on Android™, BlackBerry® Tablet OS, iOS and other platforms; create rich browser-based content across screens using HTML5
Mobile applications just now (Dec. 2011) target more than 200 million smartphones and tablets.
What is in real world:
Since then (April) till now:
- Adobe patched the Dreamweaver once and there are still problems to deliver rich media to android
- To be able to deploy apps build in Dreamweaver you need a few more steps : technical (transfer your nice app from Dreamweaver to the IDE, proprietary from Google or Apple for example) and procedural/financial ( to be allowed to deploy that app on Android market or Apple store for example)
Anyway the world is moving from the point where the classic Website (CMS) was the central and the single point of any online business to something new: the website will be just a small (and important) piece in a big puzzle linked with the others via API (google, android, IOS are just a few of them).
